We attend blood borne pathogens seminars given specifically for our industry and often attend the Alliance of Professional Piercer's (APP) annual conference to keep up with the most advanced techniques and knowledge in the industry.

We regularly consult on problem piercings that people have received, often from unprofessional venues or due to poor choices in initial jewelry made by others. We provide advice on proper care to help make problematic piercings happier and healthier for the wearer.

The major differences between Internally Threaded (threading is on the ball) and Externally threaded (threading is on the post) jewelry are:  

With internally threaded jewelry the passage through a piercing (healed or unhealed) is smoother and less traumatic. The internal threading tends to be longer with more threads per inch, forming a tighter fit with less chance of losing the ball. We only use internal threading for our initial piercing jewelry.		With externally threaded jewelry the threads are pushed through the piercing and can cause damage to both healed and unhealed piercings (imagine pushing a screw through your piercing!)  Also the threading tends to be weaker, causing a higher chance of losing ends to the jewelry.
